Hero Loop Candidates

Eleven graded previews across three lanes, all free-license (Pexels), all desaturated toward the brand. Previews are 1280w / CRF-compressed — the winner gets a proper high-res encode from its original. Videos loop muted; give them a second to load.

Lane 1 — Iceland black sand

the priority · BlackRain as landscape

Burnlap's read: this lane won. iceland-1 and iceland-2 are the literal brand image — black sand, dark sea, a white surf line cutting the frame like the droplet logo's negative space. iceland-4 is the A24 pick if you want mist over drama. iceland-5 is the "majestic" option but the mountain pulls focus from any headline text. iceland-3 is the weakest — the sky blows out white, which fights a dark page.

Aerial down the surf line — black sand left, dark sea right, one white seam of foam. Slow, majestic drift. The brand, as geography.
iceland-2 8s · 1080p orig
Sister shot of iceland-1, tighter and higher on the surf. Slightly more sea, slightly less land. Same seam.
iceland-3 10s · 1440p orig
Slow push-in along an overcast shore, near-monochrome. Moody, but the white sky is bright for a dark hero — text would need to sit low.

iceland-4 10s · 1080p orig
Sea fog rolling under a black headland, surf breaking on dark gravel. The most cinematic mood in the set — rain-adjacent without literal rain.

Vestrahorn's ridge over black sand at Stokksnes. Grand and postcard-majestic — the grade tames the sunset, but the mountain will compete with a headline.

Lane 2 — Rainy New England pastoral

mid-page section · warm-melancholy

Burnlap's read: honest verdict — free stock does not have the white-farmhouse-porch-tire-swing-in-rain shot; I swept Pexels, Mixkit and Pixabay and the true Americana-in-rain frame isn't there. ct-1 is the real thing (Martha's Vineyard, white church, drone orbit) but it's sunny — graded it reads "quiet Sunday," not rain. ct-4 is the only genuine rain, and it's a closeup mood piece, not a place. If this section matters, the honest options are: ship ct-1 graded, or budget one Artgrid/paid clip for this slot later.

Drone orbit of a white-steepled New England church in a leafy town (Martha's Vineyard). Old-money Americana, graded toward overcast. No rain — the honest caveat.

ct-2 7s · 4K orig
White steeple under an autumn canopy. Warm, but shot in full sun with blue sky — the grade can't hide it. Reads a touch stocky.

ct-3 10s · 4K orig
Cottage beside a soft grain field, breeze in the grass. Gentle and melancholy, but the architecture reads European countryside, not Connecticut.

ct-4 10s · 1080p orig
Real rain beading on a dark iron bench and railing — the only genuine rain in the lane. Porch-in-a-storm mood, but it's a texture shot, not a place.

Lane 3 — Dark city tower

long shot · only if exceptional

Burnlap's read: no literal rain-on-tower survived the cut (everything rainy was street-level taxi-light footage — villainous, not majestic). These two are the fog equivalents. city-2 is the stronger: towers surfacing from a sea of fog reads expensive and calm. city-1 is on-palette dark navy but so dark it nearly disappears — fine texture, weak statement.

city-1 10s · 4K orig
Night aerial of towers in fog, deep navy. Exactly the brand palette, but low contrast — more background texture than a hero statement.

city-2 10s · 4K orig
Towers rising out of a rolling fog bank (LA, reads city-neutral once graded). Majestic rather than villainous — the lane's only real contender.
